Preparing for Christmas

My living room looks like Christmas threw up in it.  We have a wrapping station with piles of papers and bows. Wrapped gifts and sacks are crowded under the tree and on the love seat.  Unwrapped gifts are waiting there turn on the coffee table. It’s all very busy and chaotic. It makes me feel prepared to have so many gifts almost to completion.

The real question is how is my heart? Am I feeling the joy and excitement of the coming of the Christ child? I’m not sure. I haven’t really stressed over the holiday and I think that is a good thing.  It is stressing out my daughter because she is convinced I haven’t done any shopping. She is convinced I’m going to be grabbing things off the shelf at the last minute.  But I think this is the attitude that I hoped to cultivate. That this peace in the midst of all the frenzy is a good thing.

I keep thinking about Mary and how she found joy and comfort in knowing that this was God’s plan for her and the child.  She had peace in the midst of her chaos and it was good.  I hope that you find some peace and comfort this holiday. Make the most out of friend and family time .  Breathe deeply the holy one and have the best Christmas ever!Facebooktwitterby feather
