Those who wait on The Lord shall renew their strength.

I have to admit that I am no good at waiting.  The Rev. Cindy Mayes reminded me this week that there is power in waiting.  I tend to think of it as not getting anything done.  But when we wait on The Lord to reveal his plan to us, there is power in the listening.  We live in a culture that wants everything instantaneous.  I once heard a comedian say that if we wanted our food any faster, we would  drive by with the window down and they would just throw it through the window.

Since I started this adventure of church planting, I have spent a lot of time listening for what God has planned.  I felt like I really took the time in discernment and prayer.  But now I have been moving along rapidly and have had to pause again.  It is difficult.  I tend to be a very goal oriented person.  I have gotten out of the habit of listening.  This last week God has reeled me in and reminded me to trust the plan-his plan, not mine.  So once again, I have to face my fears and find the strength to walk towards them.  To take more risks.   If I didn’t have God in my life, I don’t know that I could do it at all.  This is why it is so important that I face my fears and allow them to work to help more people know God.  To live without the strength of The Lord in my life is unimaginable.  I hope that you too, can find strength in knowing God and face your fears and challenges with the assurance that comes with not being alone.Facebooktwitterby feather
